A Baby Changes Everything!

This is my friend Teresa's Christmas blog! Please go there - she decorates many homes at Christmas and she is going to give great tips and suggestions for Christmas decorating. Teresa and her family were our neighbors for many years. Her son and my oldest son went through school together for many years! She is the only person I knew at the time that had a tree in almost every room. Read about her Jesus Tree. Teresa is an inspiration!! Check out A Baby Changes Everything!

HOME SWEET HOME

I am HOME! It's so nice to be home after being gone for 2 weeks, working 13 hrs days with no time off! It was a nice assignment, met new people and saw old friends. Texas is still having fires, I may go back before it's over. My husband came for a couple of days to see me, yeah right. He came to play golf! It really helps to get to see family while I am gone. Of course I couldn't wait til those grandaughters came yesterday after I got back. Lots of hugs and kisses!! I missed them so much!

Texas Wildfires

I will probably not get a chance to blog for 2 weeks. West Texas is burning so I am off on a 2 week assignment. I am on a finance team that helps to track the cost of fires in Texas. I will be gone 2 weeks working long hours. I am thankful I will be in an office working on a computer. Texas is very hot right now and the firefighters have a very tough job and very very dangerous! Pray it won't last long. Remember, only YOU can prevent forest fires!

Party Party!

I've been wanting to blog about my sunday school party I had at my house. The ladies in my class are the absolute best! Each one loves the Lord soooo much and are so compassionate, caring and kind. As a class we minister in alot of different areas in our church and in our town. One of the things that I am very proud of is our Empty Arms Ministry. We make baskets as gifts to give to Mother's who have lost babies or children, or miscarried. The baskets are full of little thinking of you items plus a book on dealing with grief of losing a child plus a letter from our pastor. Most of the baskets are left at funeral homes to be given to the mom. If we know them personally we deliver ourselves and we have mailed quite a few. Normally we do not have contact with the families, it's a gesture to let them know someone cares. If they contact us afterwards, then we can follow up. We have received the sweetest heartfelt thank you notes from them. This time we just relaxed and ate, we had salads and deserts and lots of laughter. These ladies are a real hoot! It's really fun to spend time with girls that love the Lord!!

10 Things to know me better...

1.I love the Lord, my husband, my 2 sons and daughter in law and my 2 precious granddaughters.
2. I love to travel. I love the fall leaves, the ocean, the snowcap mountains and big sky.
3. I do not like squeaky doors, that is what they made WD-40 for.
4.I loved loved loved being a stay at home mom. I stayed home until my youngest was in 2nd grade. I believe nothing is more important than taking care of your husband, children and home.
5. I wish I was more dedicated to bible study. I’m much better than I use to be but I have such a yearning to know God more.
6. I love to laugh, we never seem to have enough of that. My husband is funny, funnier than he thinks!
7. My secret would be to own a Bed and Breakfast. I enjoy doing for other people.
8. I am the youngest of 6 children. I love my 4 sisters dearly. I lost my only brother almost 2 yrs ago, miss him greatly.
9. I’ve learned you cannot make things happen. I always cause a train wreck if I try.
10. I love to read, just do not get to do it as much. I love to float around in the pool by myself. It's the only time I can relax.

August Ponderings

When I flipped my desk calendar over for August there were 4 little thoughts to ponder over.

1) Eat moderately.
2) Exercise vigorously.
3) Be faithful.
4) Question your prejudices
.

Now if I will just ponder on any of those for the month of August I might can make a difference!
