Krispy Kreme Donuts!! HOT!!

Saturday I went shopping out of town for the day. As I started to leave to head home I saw the sign..and it said HOT! Now you have to realize that a month ago I had allergy tests to see what kind of wonderful things I was allergic to. WHEAT was one of the things I can't have, which takes care of allll baked goods...all baked goods are sweet! So I've been pretty good, not real good, about not eating sweets. So I DESERVED to have a donut! So I whipped in to get one for .89. Well I thought I would just get 1/2 dozen to share with Mr. H. Well....1/2 dozen costs almost as much as 1 dozen, I love a bargain so I bought a dozen. I paid for the donuts and drove out to the end of the building to dig in my purse to call my husband to tell him I was on my way home and was bringing him a sweet surprise! Then I realized I didn't have my donuts. I had to get out and walk back to the drive in window and disturb the people parked at the window! The person I gave my order to was no where to be found, she had ran out the front door to catch me, needless to say with apologies I got my box of donuts and headed home. But of course I had to eat one while they were hot, then I had to eat another before they cooled!! Mr. H was happy with his sweet surprise, even if he did refer to them as MY donuts! The next day younger son and family came over. ONE donut left. Me, my daughter in law and 2 little grandaughters split it 4 ways. I could tell by the look in the little girls eyes they were hooked on Krispy Kreme. We had a party in our mouths!! So for 2 days afterward I snorted and coughed but believe me it was worth every bit of it!!!

The Proposal

I went with my daughter-in-law tonight to see The Proposal. It is the cutest and funniest movie I've seen in awhile. A real chick flick!! MUST see!!

Praying for your children.

I watched a small portion of Charles Stanley on tv last week and he was preaching about praying for your children. The ONE thing that stuck with me was that the Lord taught him a long time that when you pray for your children to just pray that they will listen to the voice of God. Nothing more nothing less. I pondered on this and I realized that often when I pray for my children , that if I cannot completely turn it over to God then sometimes I end up praying what I think God will think is best for them. I should never ever assume how God is going to answer a prayer. HIS answered prayers will ALWAYS be what is best. And I will always benefit spending time with HIM.

Psalm 19:14: "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight."

3 things you do not know about me.

Mcklinky Blog Hop wants to know 3 things about me:

1) I love motorcycles. I have never owned one. I can count the times I've ridden one on one hand but I love it!

2) I've parasailed in Jamaica and zip lined in Alaska.

3) I travel with my job, I am not a firefighter but I am on a team that tracks the cost of fires for the state of Texas, all on computer. So interesting, meet lots of out of state people and do work out of state sometimes. Actually it's all emergencies, not just fires. I've worked on the shuttle assignment and hurricanes. Very interesting.

BALANCE

My new word this year has been Balance. The beginning of the year I tried to stay focused on having a better balance in my life. More time in God's word, getting to know HIM better, enjoying my family more, having quality time with my husband, having free time for crafts, yardwork, or computer creativity which I enjoy, reading more books, relaxing in the pool on a float without feeling guilty, spending time with friends and many other things that would round out my nice life. At this stage of my life you would think that would all come together but it hasn't. The first of the year started out better than it is now. I tend to get boggled down with life and forget I am LIVING life as we speak and I need to enjoy things more instead of taking care of life. Does any of this makes sense to anyone?

Before now I spent the last 2 yrs working on the word FREEDOM in my life. There is freedom in turning everything over to GOD and letting HIM handle it. There is freedom in not knowing everything about your children. There is freedom in not feeling responsible for everyone's happiness. It's hard turning lose and letting go with God, we think if we can control it somehow it will turn out how we think it should turn out. But I have learned from experience that God's way is always the best way. I don't want to know everything about what is going on in my adult children's lives. It's just been the hardest thing for me to quit mothering my children. I loved being a mother to my 2 grown sons, every aspect of it, so that makes it hard. I'm just thankful I am a part of their lives and I still have alot of work to do with myself. Motherhood has been my greatest calling. I love my husband and have always loved taking care of him, my home and our sons. Is it just me or are their other mothers out there like that?

So for my part, I need to hold my children close while I can. I need to smile at them more, hug them more, sit on the floor a little more, and remember that one day there will be no more diaper laundry or toddler tantrums or tiny soft bodies to keep me warm at night. What a gift we have - this time with our children.

Recipe

We had this on the 4th, it is wonderful! Use chicken breasts and put a slice of pineapple on each one and top with onion and bell pepper, then top with bbq sauce, wrap individually in foil and grill. We grilled but next time I am going to bake in the oven in a casserole dish, covered. Then top with cheese!

Forgiveness

I had a moment with God I feel I have to share. Last week I had 3 major prayer requests going on with God. I was so burdened and I would pray and pray about them. If I woke up at night it was fresh on my mind and my heart was heavy. I also prayed that I needed some relief from this burden, plus those people needed answered prayer. I prayed for a sign. By Thursday I could see all 3 situations were taking a turn for the better. I was so thankful and grateful to God. Thursday night after work, buying groceries and running errands I was so tired once I got home. I knew I was wanting to keep my grandaughters all day Fri. and Fri. night I knew we would be very busy Sat. for the 4th. I told myself that I was just going to be too tired to go to church Sunday and that I wold just stay home. IMMEDIATELY, my heart spoke to me....God said, you have spent much time with me this week sharing your burdens and asking for answered prayer and I have granted that and lightened your burdens and you cannot even go to MY house Sunday and worship ME and praise ME?....Immediately I had to ask for forgiveness. All that happened even before I could dwell on what I said and even feel guilty about it. I pray that I can stay IN TUNE with God at all times so I can hear HIM when HE speaks to me. We are human and that is so difficult, but I did learn something. I had been in HIS word all week and therefore I was sensitive to what HE had to say to me. That is what it is about, communicating with HIM. HE cannot communicate with us if we are not TUNED TO HIM. Lord, forgive me when I don't keep in touch with you like I should.

These are my sweet-peas!

Grateful

I am so thankful for those that fought for our freedom. We enjoyed the family here yesterday for a cookout and swimming then we went to a gospel singing and watched fireworks. It was awesome. Today we sang the patriotic songs at church and I felt very grateful for our freedom. I am really singing praises because we received a much needed rain today.

Blessings.

I am so blessed to have 2 beautiful grandaughters. After having 2 sons and no daughters, these
grandaughters are icing on the cake! Never knew there was a whole new world of PINK stuff out there! Jayda and Riley are girly girls too! They love having their nails polished!
