Krispy Kreme Donuts!! HOT!!

Saturday I went shopping out of town for the day. As I started to leave to head home I saw the sign..and it said HOT! Now you have to realize that a month ago I had allergy tests to see what kind of wonderful things I was allergic to. WHEAT was one of the things I can't have, which takes care of allll baked goods...all baked goods are sweet! So I've been pretty good, not real good, about not eating sweets. So I DESERVED to have a donut! So I whipped in to get one for .89. Well I thought I would just get 1/2 dozen to share with Mr. H. Well....1/2 dozen costs almost as much as 1 dozen, I love a bargain so I bought a dozen. I paid for the donuts and drove out to the end of the building to dig in my purse to call my husband to tell him I was on my way home and was bringing him a sweet surprise! Then I realized I didn't have my donuts. I had to get out and walk back to the drive in window and disturb the people parked at the window! The person I gave my order to was no where to be found, she had ran out the front door to catch me, needless to say with apologies I got my box of donuts and headed home. But of course I had to eat one while they were hot, then I had to eat another before they cooled!! Mr. H was happy with his sweet surprise, even if he did refer to them as MY donuts! The next day younger son and family came over. ONE donut left. Me, my daughter in law and 2 little grandaughters split it 4 ways. I could tell by the look in the little girls eyes they were hooked on Krispy Kreme. We had a party in our mouths!! So for 2 days afterward I snorted and coughed but believe me it was worth every bit of it!!!

The Proposal

I went with my daughter-in-law tonight to see The Proposal. It is the cutest and funniest movie I've seen in awhile. A real chick flick!! MUST see!!

Praying for your children.

I watched a small portion of Charles Stanley on tv last week and he was preaching about praying for your children. The ONE thing that stuck with me was that the Lord taught him a long time that when you pray for your children to just pray that they will listen to the voice of God. Nothing more nothing less. I pondered on this and I realized that often when I pray for my children , that if I cannot completely turn it over to God then sometimes I end up praying what I think God will think is best for them. I should never ever assume how God is going to answer a prayer. HIS answered prayers will ALWAYS be what is best. And I will always benefit spending time with HIM.

Psalm 19:14: "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight."

3 things you do not know about me.

Mcklinky Blog Hop wants to know 3 things about me:

1) I love motorcycles. I have never owned one. I can count the times I've ridden one on one hand but I love it!

2) I've parasailed in Jamaica and zip lined in Alaska.

3) I travel with my job, I am not a firefighter but I am on a team that tracks the cost of fires for the state of Texas, all on computer. So interesting, meet lots of out of state people and do work out of state sometimes. Actually it's all emergencies, not just fires. I've worked on the shuttle assignment and hurricanes. Very interesting.

BALANCE

My new word this year has been Balance. The beginning of the year I tried to stay focused on having a better balance in my life. More time in God's word, getting to know HIM better, enjoying my family more, having quality time with my husband, having free time for crafts, yardwork, or computer creativity which I enjoy, reading more books, relaxing in the pool on a float without feeling guilty, spending time with friends and many other things that would round out my nice life. At this stage of my life you would think that would all come together but it hasn't. The first of the year started out better than it is now. I tend to get boggled down with life and forget I am LIVING life as we speak and I need to enjoy things more instead of taking care of life. Does any of this makes sense to anyone?

Before now I spent the last 2 yrs working on the word FREEDOM in my life. There is freedom in turning everything over to GOD and letting HIM handle it. There is freedom in not knowing everything about your children. There is freedom in not feeling responsible for everyone's happiness. It's hard turning lose and letting go with God, we think if we can control it somehow it will turn out how we think it should turn out. But I have learned from experience that God's way is always the best way. I don't want to know everything about what is going on in my adult children's lives. It's just been the hardest thing for me to quit mothering my children. I loved being a mother to my 2 grown sons, every aspect of it, so that makes it hard. I'm just thankful I am a part of their lives and I still have alot of work to do with myself. Motherhood has been my greatest calling. I love my husband and have always loved taking care of him, my home and our sons. Is it just me or are their other mothers out there like that?
