These Travelin' pants are tired!

I went with 3 of my sisters plus our sister in law to Arkansas to visit our oldest sister.  We had a wonderful time even though she was not feeling very well.  We ate too much, laughed too much and didn't sleep enough.  I came back exhausted but I believe it's because I ate too  much...ya think?  We started out with a bowl of fudge one of my sisters made.  Started eating it in the car!!  What fun!!   Then last night I kept my grandaughters for a bit while their parents went on a date to the movie.  It was fun, I missed them soo much while I was gone!  It seems to take me a little longer to get over traveling these days....but it won't keep me from going again!!

First Day of Kingergarten!

My grandaughter started Kindergarten today! Oh my, I do not like that! But she was more than ready and excited about her first day. I went over this morning to take pictures!

And little sister wanted her picture made also!

My daughter in law said Jayda did just fine when she left her at school.  But when she got in the car "Butterfly Kisses" was playing on the radio...and she lost it!!  There will be alot of changes this year but it's also going to be exciting!!

Best friend, shopping, Cheesecake Factory and cuddling a newborn baby!

I had the best day yesterday! I drove to the Woodlands to spend the day with my childhood friend from W. Texas who came in to visit with her new grandson. She has 7 grandchildren now and I am sooo jealous, I just have 2! There is nothing like holding a tiny baby. He is really the sweetest! After cuddling and ooooing and ahhhing over him we left to go shopping. We ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory but too stuffed for dessert. We went back later in the day for coffee, cheesecake and a chance to just get a good visit in. We have been friends since we were 10 yrs. old and we are like sisters. I took her back to her daughters and headed home and got home around 10 p.m. Very long day but definitely worth the trip! I was quite draggy today back at work! The kids came over tonight, Jayda had been to "meet the teacher". She was sooo excited to see where she was going to school and see some classmates and her teacher. She can't wait til Monday. We will be baby sitting the girls tomorrow night so maybe I can get some pictures!!

It's an oven out there...

I went shopping Sat. with my daughter in law and 2 sweet grandaughters. Jessica and Jayda shopped for school clothes and Riley and I entertained one another. We left at 9 and returned at 10:30 Sat. night. I was exhausted, needless to say it was the hottest!!! Jayda starts kindergarten next week, cannot believe it! We literally shopped til we dropped. The parking garage at the Boardwalk was honestly like an oven! Of course the cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory made up for it! It really was a fun day, shopping with the girls is more exciting than when I use to shop for my 2 little boys, which was a very long time ago. Jayda got so many cute outfits for school, she looks like a doll! I hope to get pictures of her the first day of school. Time has gone by toooooooo fast!

It's beginning to look alot like...wait....

It's not Christmas! Christmas time is usually the time that people think about doing nice things for people. I've heard and read about this but didn't experience it until tonight! We went out of town to eat and shop a little and before we headed home we drove through Starbucks so I could get a skinny white chocolate mocha...oh..it's heavenly. When we drove up to the window to pay for it the lady said..."the lady in the car in front of you has paid for your drink".....I looked up and she was driving off. Actually I had not even paid any attention to who was in front of us. After I closed my mouth from surprise, I smiled!! Sooo I bought the drink for the lady behind me!! A small act of of kindness goes a long way and makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Especially while you are drinking a skinny white chocolate mocha!!

Time to go back to work so I can rest!

Our weekend was busy busy. Started out Friday night with a datenight with my husband and another couple. We went out of town for dinner and the food was delicious and we had so much fun. Ended it with bringing home Krispy Kreme donuts..oh my! Sat. and Sun. we had our little grandaughters. Their parents were in Galveston for a wedding. Their "mimi" had them Friday night and when she brought them over Sat. they were wound up and still ready to roll! We swam most of the time. I did not get one picture, way too busy! We played in the sandbox, rode the barbie jeep, swung in the swings, retrieved a frog out of the pool, ate and did crafts. Also went to church and later went for snowcones! Swam all of Sunday afternoon. By the time the parents picked them up all 4 of us were exhausted. We get to have a rerun tonight because today is my youngest son's birthday so Dad is grilling. After the girls left last night I remembered I still had to make the birtday cake, which is actually Cheesecake, his favorite! We are actually celebrating my DIL birthday also, hers is in 2 weeks so I'm killing 2 birds with one stone as they say! I like to celebrate them together so I won't interfere if they have plans for her birthday with her family or anything else. I'm back at work trying to rest a bit before tonight. Ha! That isn't happening! Family time is so precious because you never know when things will change in the blink of an eye. And before I know it those little girls will be grown! My son is 33 today, where did the time go?

OH MY!

My template is going to be removed and I am in a mess here. Another change! Hopefully my site will look ok later. I have lost some of the blogs I follow!

Changes....

Why are things always changing? I am not against change but sometimes it just doesn't need to change too soon. We had my neice and her family from ARK in for several days last week. Saturday we invited the rest of the family over to visit with them. There was swimming, eating, laughter, eating going on. I look around and see all these neices and nephews that use to be "kids" and now they have their own kids. I love it that our family has grown so much but it touches my heart to see them all grown up. My oldest grandaughter will start kindergarten this fall and I don't really like it! I tell her that I don't want her to grow up and she says "I am grami, I am!" And I know she is!

Some changes are fun. I got a new cell phone and it's got so many perks I can't figure it all out. But it has been fun trying to learn everything. My new toy is the Kindle, I luv it! I love holding books and turning pages and running my hand over the covers of book. When we go to a book store I can almost smell the books. Crazy I know but I love books and reading. So I didn't know if I would like the Kindle or not. I cleaned out my bookshelves and found many many books I've not even read. That's ok, I will one day. I am still buying books I can read and hold and smell but there is just something about the Kindle that works for me! Changes...what will be next??

Little Girls Swim Party!

Well it was a success story. My 2 grandaughters and 7 other little girls had the best time Sat. We gave Jayda and Riley a swim party. It actually started Friday night with Jayda spending the night with me to HELP me get ready. We decorated and Jayda dipped marshmellows in chocolate for her friends. Saturday morning came and Jayda was in the pool in her pajama's before 8 o'clock, she couldn't wait! The girls came and they swam and we grilled hot dogs and they swam and we fixed ice cream sundaes with all the fixins and they swam and ate and ate and swam! They didn't realize how hot it was, those 9 little girls were having too much fun. After everyone left and everyone had a little nap, including me, we met our son and family on the square for the Watermelon festival. Another hot time but oh so much fun. Jayda and Riley rode all the rides many times and they loved the big slide, especially when Grami went down with them! Jayda got brave and wanted to ride a couple of the BIG rides that she was just big enough to ride, it was really a blast even if I did feel a little dizzy. It was wild, fast and furious. I would yell...are ya lovin' it?? Jayda would yell back..."I luv it Grami"...oh a girl after my own heart! I've always loved the rides!!

These are the cutest little girls, for some reason Riley didn't make this picture.

Somebody wasn't having a happy moment!

This is her happy face and isn't it the cutest!!! I love my girls sooooooo much!!!!
