Spoke too soon....

Sunshine only lasted a short time. We have had sooo much rain and bad weather. Our schools are starting a couple of hours later because it's dark when the buses make their runs and they cannot tell if the roads are flooded or washed out. Suppose to be sunshine tomorrow. My little grandaughter is 2 today! Party tomorrow!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Ted and I went with Jayda with her school to a little Pumpkin Patch. Actually all the pumpkins were brought to a church and the kids could go and pick out the ones they wanted. Jayda got a big one to take back to school to decorate and she got a little one for her little sister. We had a good day. Afterwards all the kids went to Chick Fillet for lunch and they played in the playground. Then Ted was a good guy and let Jayda and I do a little shopping before we returned home! After we got back home we picked up Riley and brought them to the house to play, it was a beautiful day. Unfornately the next afternoon I got sick. Thought I had the flu but it turned out to be bronchitus! Spent the next 2 days in bed, no fun!

39 yrs?????

Yesterday I attended a reunion for The Chapparels of my school. It is a dance/drill team. 39 yrs ago the first dance team was formed and I was part of it. There were 15 of us. Through the years there have been between 25-35 girls each year. I could not believe it's been 39 yrs.!! The turnout from my group was not good at all but I am hoping to help work on that for next time! Things are so different now than it was then! They have so many opportunities that we did not have. Do I still have my uniform? YES...Does it still fit????????????? no..... I would love to post a "then" picture but I would need everyone's permission!

Face Painting at the Poultry Festival

I took the day off Friday and spent the day with my oldest grandaughter at the Poultry Festival. We had a blast! We shopped at all the booths then we ate lunch. After lunch we worked for an hour at the ice cream booth that my church was sponsoring. Jayda served the spoon and napkins and we could not have done it without her! After that a friend of mine met me with her grandaughter which is a good friend of Jayda's and we rode rides all afteroon. They had a blast and us Grami's did too. Of course we had to ride the bumper cars with them and also that BIG tall slide! They enjoyed all the kiddie rides. Around 5 we came home for Jayda to take a short nap. She fell asleep in her Poppa's lap. Then the 3 of us met her parents and the little grandaughter Riley at the festival for supper and to ride more rides. Those little girls are definitely my grandaughter's!! They love to ride rides. I can't wait til they grow so they can ride the BIGGER rides!! Of course I did not take my camera. So after we got home I got pics of the face painting!! She thought she was beautiful...and she was....IS!

Grace

The name of my sunday school class is called the Grace Class. There are many definitions of Grace but the ones I like that best describe the ladies in my class are: The exercise of love, kindness, mercy, favor, disposition to benefit or serve another; the influence or spirit of God operating in humans to regenerate or strengthen them. Last night our class fed the carnival folks that are setting up for our Poultry Festival. I think this is the 3rd of 4th year we have fed them. We fed appoximately 70 last night. Usually a business donates chicken and our ladies cook beans/peas/cheesy potatoes and enough cookies and brownies to feed an army. This year banana pudding was added to the menu and it was awesome. We serve them and they love coming back for seconds. These are guys and girls that do not have an easy job and it's also a dirty job working the equipment they work with for the rides that my grandaughters luv to ride! They told us nobody ever does anything that nice for them. You know it was such a small thing once we all pulled together like that. We had one little 2 yr old girl in the bunch. Her parents were sweet and she was adorable. We brought her a little gift of a baby doll, bubbles and a little bible storybook. She was all giggley and wiggley with that! These people are no different that you or me. Their life took them down a different path. Their clothes may not be really nice and they may have tattoos and are not always the cleanest. But their hearts are like ours. They yearn for somebody to care about them just like you and me, and to respect them and appreciate them. I think we may have just entertained angels last night.....

Granny Nanny

Yesterday I played
"Granny Nanny" and stayed home from work to keep my youngest granduaghter Riley. She was not feeling well so we gave her lots of TLC and she is MUCH better!!

Last weekend Jayda helped me make brownies on a stick! She did most of the work and had so much fun decorating them. Then we made some toilet paper wrapped pumpkins. She kept saying "Grami they don't look like Jack o lanterns! They aren't..they are pumpkins!!..she is soooo much fun!
